Latino Farmer Conference

The 9th annual Growing Together Latino Farmer Conference is November 1-2, 2023, in California’s Central Valley.

This year’s event will include conference sessions on day one, followed by a farm field day on day two. The National Center for Appropriate Technology (NCAT) and the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) are pleased to present this annual statewide sustainable agriculture conference for Spanish-speaking farmers. This conference brings together the Latino farming community, the agriculture industry, and advocates for sustainability and agribusinesses for two days of workshops, networking, and learning with fellow farmers.

The collaboration among NCAT, USDA, sponsors, and countless partners and speakers has brought relevant and high-quality educational information directly to the Latino community of California and beyond. Please help in any way you can by spreading the word and sharing our announcements with farmers you know. The Day of the Dead 

All are welcome to participate by bringing their own offering or by using the items we provide!

This year’s conference falls on a very special day. The Day of the Dead (Dia De Los Muertos) inscribed on the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, is a day to remember and celebrate the lives of loved ones who have passed. Photos, marigold flowers, candy skulls, and other offerings are meant to honor them and narrow the gap between our worlds. The offerings are believed to encourage visits from the land of the dead as the departed souls are guided by prayers, the smell of food, and flowers to join in the celebration!
